The project, started by The study center Systasis at the end of 2019, was the extension of the different project “Mediation for environmental conflicts, cofounded in 2015/2016 by Fondazione Cariplo and Camera Arbitrale of Milan (www.mediazionemabiente.it).

The environmental and climate crisis affects people’s lives. A land degraded and/or affected by extreme weather events is no longer able to sustain those who live there and this may lead to mass migrations, globally. The ‘Climate Routes’ is a project promoted by The Study Center Systasis with a broad multidisciplinary partnership, implemented through a three-year grant from the Italian foundation Fondazione Cariplo, from January 2023 to December 2025.

The ‘Gromada’ project, in full “Supporting Higher Education institutions in their cooperation with Ukrainian counterparts to respond to the war in Ukraine”, funded through an Erasmus + multiparters grant and running for two years from December 2023 to November 2025,  responds to environmental consequences of the war in Ukraine by involving European High Education Institutions (HEIs) to support Ukrainian civil capacity for environmental recovery.
